I was having a lot of trouble with my engi until i got a certain amount of points. It sounds like you just need to look a little deeper into the skills. He seems to have a lot of skills around melee, dual wielding and speed - which sounds like a legit "Role" to me. Same for the cannon Engi.Īnyway, I'll probably check out the zerker soon. My main gripe with the Outlander, is that "Role Playing" a shooty archetype has a pretty narrow choice selection, not that it doesn't exist at all or isn't viable. It seems that I might have been misunderstood by some of you. Is he the guy for me? How should I play him?Īnd a more rethoric one: why don't I have real shooty guy in this game? I'd pick a Mage/whatever if I wanted to throw spells out of nowhere at my enemies.Įdit: Thanks for all the replies.

You see, I really want to do cool things with my guns/bows when I'm playing a ranged class and the Outlander has only a few skills that focus on this style.Īfter giving up on the Outlander, I thought about building a cannon Engineer. Maybe I'm a bit conservative with my expectations from an aRPG, but playing the outlander left me feeling that he's less likely to become a cool gunslinger/archer than a weird spell caster.
